Five of our Year 4 pupils travelled to Aston Fields Middle School to take part in a Gifted and Talented Maths Codebreaking Workshop.  They spent the afternoon with the Head of Maths Department of Aston Fields and completed challenges set to solve a murder mystery. They used codes to solve the clues which enabled them to find out which suspect was the murderer, what weapon they used and where the crime took place. They used code breaking techniques such as the Caesar Cypher Shift, International Maritime Signal Flags, Cypher Text, Morse Code and Rows of Four Code. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and worked well as a team to solve the clues.
